From
the Pastor..
Our church's mission statement begins - as does each week
here at PPC - with an invitation to celebrate the gifts of
God:
the gift of life that is
abundant and eternal,
and the gift of love that is beyond all measure,
all made known through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, God's Son. In addition to weekly worship, much happens in this vibrant family of faith.
We are in an exciting time of growth--both spiritual and numerical. A new group for 20- and 30-somethings gathers couples and singles for fellowship. Children, youth and adults alike take part in educational opportunities, including Sunday school and weekday Bible studies. Special groups offer fellowship and support for senior adults, middle and high school youth, women of all ages, and young adults.
At the same time, we continue our historic commitment to the community and the world. A food pantry, partnership with Synergy Services and Hillcrest Ministries, and other mission projects reach beyond our walls as we endeavor to promote work in evangelism and justice around the world through our mission support.
This is a place for people at every stage of their journey of faith and this is caring and accepting group of fellow travelers. Each of us is different, each at a different stage in our understanding, each a unique blend of gifts and shortcomings, confidences and doubts. But we strive to serve God together, relying on the power of the Holy Spirit, and following Jesus, the source of all our life and love.
On behalf of the family of faith here at Parkville, I invite you to join us on the journey.
